This week… March 31, 2008
To do list:
- go back and screenshot and annotate the InDesign workshop work so far
- create Design sheets to show the flow and development of ideas
- research into typography (anatomy etc.) create a little personal primer to typographer with definitions etc. as a reference
- create some rough thumbnail spread sketches done on Monday 31st of March
- make more thumbnail and make them into quick digital ones (or maybe digitalize just the best ones?)
- idea brainstorm done Monday 31st of March (roughs) and then digitalized for Monday 7th of April
- Do more mock ups using images of Vince Frost’s actual work as part of the InDesign workshop and just as quick examples of various spread designs.
Technical Support March 31, 2008
I must remember to ask my housemate (who is on the Interactive Media course) to help me sort things out with this blog since it has some problems with it. For example how do I change the font? or point size? Sometimes I would try to create separate paragraphs but then when I would click ‘publish’ it would just ignore the spaces I put in and lumped them together as a single paragraph. Also, need a bit of help with how to put images in…how can I insert them so that you can view them in a separate window?
I have some sketches, brainstorms and handwritten notes which I would like to post up here so that I can have the whole sketchbook in one place (online) though bits of it may be digital or hand done. Resolving these technical issues will definitely help with this goal I have.
*** Would it be possible to put in a little spread sheet type file which would be the template for a single week (which I could then customize for my PPRD file and fill in as appropriate with things I need to do, things I have done, deadlines etc.)
Brainstorming and Idea Development March 31, 2008
Schedule:
Mondays + Tuesdays are going to be typeradio working days
Wednesdays are going to continue being InDesign days
Tuesday 2nd of April - the second half of the day is devoted to Jonathan Barnbrook’s talk and visit
Thursday- you must choose one of the two Live Briefs handed out before easter and have SOMETHING to show for it! Even if it’s only rough sketches! Make the most of your opportunities otherwise you won’t get a job!

Tutorials with Sally about where we are so far, should have reserach, developing ideas and spreads.
While waiting I drew up various potential spreads for the project.
Also brainstormed various ideas of what part of the interview to choose and what visuals I should create for it.
Put online the pages from my notebook where I have this! (scan, put on photobucket or something, and link them here!)
